I mentioned that I was going to put up a short q&amp;a with Claudio Sanchez from Coheed and Cambria- here you go...<br />
<br />
<font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">here is a few questions-</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">JW: Hi Claudio- it's Jim Ward here- do you remember when we first met? We had</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">dinner at that restaurant in New York City. I don't remember what kind of food</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">that was we were eating, but I do remember how nice you guys were. My point is</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">that with your success that hasn't changed, every time I run into you guys,</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">where ever it is, you are so kind. How do you manage to stay grounded and also</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">fulfill fans desires to see you bigger than life?</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">CS: Ahh, thanks Jim. You have always been really nice to us as well. As far as</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">staying grounded, I think my upbringing has a lot to do with it. I worked</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">hard to get to where we are, and I know it could go away at anytime, so I</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">always appreciate what we have, and without the fans we wouldn't be here, so</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">yeah, I am very grateful.</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
<br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">JW: You have built such a dedicated fan base. As this record ties up the amory</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">wars are you feeling any pressure to that fan base to give them more? Have you</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">considered a new saga?</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">CS: I don't feel any pressure, at the same time I don't want to disappoint the</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">fans.  I certainly have ideas for the next direction, whether we stay inside</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">the saga or start something new, it's a little premature to say exactly</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">what's next.</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">JW: I like what you said about critics not even listening to your records and</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">sort of reviewing based on the concepts, it makes me wonder if that frees you</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">up a little bit when writing, can you sort of let go of expectations? Does</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">that make sense? I am not a professional interviewer, go easy on me...</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">CS: To be completely honest, I haven't ever really thought about it in that</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">sense, but I'd like to think that our records can stand on their own without</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">the conceptual side, so it does bother me a little bit that they don't</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">listen to it and base it on its own merits. The song World of Lines sort of</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">touches on my frustration with the press. But at the end of the day, it's</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">our fans that really matter, and as long as they keep enjoying it, then our</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">job is done.</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">JW: I always like to get people's perceptions of El Paso when they come</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">through. What do you think of our town?</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff"><br />
</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">CS: Well I don't know a ton about El Paso, but I did a comic book signing there</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />

</font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">to playing a proper show there.</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />

</font></font><font face="times new roman"><font color="#ffffff">CS: No! Haha. We are not canceling. We owe EP a great show.</font></font><font color="#ffffff"><br />

<div>Before anyone gets excited, let me say right now that this is just for kicking around the idea. However, if I feel that this can be brought to life if I work on it enough. I could possibly convince my old high school band director to put it on, although she likes using adult contemporary stuff (Michael McDonald, Chuck Mangione, and Billy Joel so far).<br />
<br />
I've given this some thought, and concluded that a show based on In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3 would be quite awesome. I would love to open with The Ring in Return, but you only get 8-10 minutes of actual show. It's fifteen minutes total, but you have to set up and get your band off the field, so it's not REALLY fifteen minutes.<br />
<br />
How could this work? We start with IKSSE:3, go to the end of the first chorus, and then I think switch to Blood Red Summer? After some BRS, go into A Favor House Atlantic.<br />
<br />
I realize I'm doing the two singles, but I figured at least some people would actually know them. Three Evils might be a little more interesting. Anyway, at the end, I can't decide if it should jump into The Light and The Glass, or if it should reprise to IKKSE:3 with the chorus of Oohs.<br />
<br />
All ideas are welcomed. I'm generally familiar with the show having four songs, one of which is a ballad (I'm not sure if this is required. If so, TLATG would cover it). However, I would need to figure out ways of making moving lines for different parts so that certain instruments aren't just holding on power chords the whole time.</div>
